St. Marie's Catholic Primary School

A very warm welcome on behalf of our children, staff and Governors!

It is my privilege to be headteacher here at Saint Marie’s.

We are a small, ‘Outstanding’, Catholic school with a big heart, firmly
established within the Standish community.

Each day I am impressed by our fantastic children and their enthusiasm and joy for learning, and also by our experienced, highly skilled staff team, who show their commitment and love for what they do. Visitors comment on our children’s excellent behaviour and care for each other, and our warm, family feel.

Here at Saint Marie’s Jesus is at the centre of everything we do as we learn through faith, love and respect. Every day we model, nurture and celebrate the Gospel Values of being kind, faithful, honest, welcoming, trustworthy, loving and a team!

Our curriculum is ambitious for all children – Expressive Arts is timetabled weekly for every class, we make use of our beautiful outside spaces for learning, we are committed to mental health and well being and have been awarded recently with the Platinum Sports Award. Children thrive at Saint Marie’s through our nurturing of individual talents and our high expectations both academically and in every area of school life and personal development.
Please get in contact if you would like to arrange a personal tour around our wonderful school. We welcome families of all faiths.

We look forward to meeting you.
Mrs F Jackson

wonderful children -
Loving God,
Bless these children as they leave our school.

Sporting Achievements
St. Marie’s won the Wigan small school Town Sports! We are very proud of all the children in the team who competed over the different nights, and who all contributed to this fantastic result! Well done. Your attitudes and behaviour were fantastic, and you really supported each other and worked as a team. Thank you to the staff who were involved
Garden Developments
The school garden has been transformed over the past two weeks with special funding from the RHS. The children will be able to grow plants and compost waste. There are areas to sit and drains have been put in to stop the waterlogging. The path has been re-done. We can’t wait to use this area with the children once the grass is ready.
Special thanks to Mrs Waterworth and the team from Murphys!
