If your child was born between 1st September 2020 and 31st August 2021, they will start reception class at the start of the new school year in September 2025.

Mid-year admissions, we have a number of places available in our Year 5 and Reception classes, please contact the school office if you are moving into the area and considering a school for your child.

Admissions to our School

Wigan LA will only offer ONE school place to each child, please ensure you select St Marie's as your first choice in order to secure the best chance of being offered a place at our school. If you would like to discuss your application please do not hesitate to contact us on 01257 422975.
For each new September intake there are 30 places at school for Reception Year children, if 30 children or less apply for a place ALL children who apply will be offered a place, however if more than 30 children apply, places will be allocated with reference to the school's Admissions policy. planned to try to make it grow better. People are like trees, they need certain things to grow. Jesus
is like the gardener. He is patient with us, nurtures us and helps us to change for the better
Live Simply Award
Wonderful news! Saint Marie’s has just achieved our Live Simply Award today! We are thrilled. This
has been lots of work and is a true celebration of everything that happens at Saint Marie’s to ‘Live
Simply’ by caring for each other and the world around us. Well done to our children and whole
school team, and a huge thank you to Mrs Styles for leading us so well with this project. We will
would like to celebrate at Mass – more details to follow.

We are a Thinking School
St. Marie’s has been awarded ‘Thinking Schools Accreditation’. This is to celebrate all the work that has been done over a period of time on metacognitive development and
effective strategies for teaching and learning.

The beginning of Lent
During Lent we spend 40 days trying to come closer to God, so that we are ready for Easter. We try to pray more and share more.
World Book Day Celebrations
There was a fantastic atmosphere in school on World Book Day as the children found out about
different books and authors - and had lots of fun! Thank you to parents for supporting the children
with their creations and for sending in some brilliant videos of the children reading/acting out
scenes from stories.
