We talked about the features of instructions. The children identified verbs to match the actions; made their own jam sandwiches and wrote instructions. Their writing from this was wonderful.
The spelling quiz on a Thursday is going well and I can tell that most children are practising these spellings for homework. The spellings are to practise the digraphs from Basics 3 Phonics.
